🚩 Warning Signs — Tell Someone If Any of These Apply
- An adult asks you to keep your conversation a secret.
- Someone asks you for photos of your body.
- Someone sends you sexual content or talks about sex with you.
- Someone says things like "age is just a number" or "you're so mature."
- Someone gets angry or guilt-trips you when you try to pull back.
- Someone asks you to move the conversation to a different app where messages disappear.
- Someone wants to meet you in person — especially alone.
- Someone sends you gifts, money, or game credits.
- You feel like you cannot stop talking to them even though something feels off.
Even one of these is enough reason to talk to someone you trust.
🛟 What to Do
- It is not your fault. No matter what happened, the adult is the one responsible.
- Do not delete messages. They can be used as evidence to protect you and others.
- Block the person. You do not owe them anything.
- Tell someone you trust. A parent, teacher, school counsellor, or older sibling. If you cannot say it out loud, send a text or write it down.
- Contact a helpline. The numbers below are free, confidential, and run by people trained to help.
- Report on this site. Use the âš ï¸ Report button on any profile, photo, or message, or contact us directly.
âš ï¸ If Someone Is Threatening You
If someone is threatening to share your photos or messages unless you do what they want, that is called sextortion and it is a serious crime. They can go to prison for it.
- Do not send anything more. Giving in to threats does not make them stop.
- Do not delete evidence. Screenshot the threats if you can.
- You will not get in trouble for reporting. Law enforcement treats you as the victim — because you are.
- Report to CEOP (UK), CyberTipline (US), or your local police.
