Everything you need to know about hosting and joining live video chat rooms on RateMyBody.net.
🔞 Age Requirements
You must be at least 16 years old to host or join a Live Video Chat room.
You must be at least 18 years old to show, request, or otherwise engage in adult nudity or sexual content in a room — this applies whether you're hosting or watching. Rooms involving adult content must have every participant 18+.
Users aged 16–17 must keep private parts fully covered at all times — no nudity is permitted for underage users, no exceptions.
Zero tolerance: nudity, masturbation, or any sexual conduct by anyone under 18 — or who reasonably appears to be under 18 — is strictly prohibited, no matter what age is listed on the account. Self-reported age is not a defence. If a participant appears underage, the broadcast is shut down and the account is permanently banned on the spot, evidence is preserved, and the case is reported to NCMEC and law enforcement. 🎥 What Is Live Video Chat?
Live Video Chat is a free feature on RateMyBody.net that lets you broadcast your webcam live in your own room, or join rooms hosted by other users to watch and chat in real time. It's peer-to-peer video (your camera streams directly to viewers) with a live text chat built right in — no app or download required, it all runs in your browser.
Every room is hosted by a real member of our community, and you can see who you're watching (and how many people are already in the room) before you join. There's currently no random 1-on-1 matching — you browse the room list and pick who to watch, or start your own room.
🚀 How to Host a Room
You can only host one room at a time. If you already have a room open on another browser or device and click Host a Room again, you'll simply be taken back into that same room instead of creating a second one.
🔒 Room Options: Rename, Private Rooms & Invite Links
Once you're hosting, use the controls at the top of your stage to customize your room:
- ✏️ Rename — give your room a custom name shown to everyone browsing the room list.
- 🔒 / 🔓 Private toggle — mark your room private to hide it from the public room list (it still shows as an anonymous "Private Room" entry so the room count stays accurate). Only people with your direct invite link can join a private room.
- 🔗 Copy Invite Link — copies a shareable link (
ratemybody.net/videochat/yourusername) that takes anyone straight into your room, public or private, without needing to find it in the list.

For everyone's safety, all Live Video Chat broadcasts are recorded and may be reviewed by our moderation team. Illegal content, harassment, or anything that violates our community guidelines or Terms of Service will result in a ban. Please report anything concerning using the report tools in the room, or via our contact page.
See someone who might be underage nude or engaging in sexual conduct? Report it immediately using the in-room Report button — do not wait to see if it's "confirmed", and do not assume someone's self-reported age is accurate. We act on the first report and would rather review something that turns out to be nothing than miss something that isn't.
Only you may appear on camera. No other person — partner, friend, family member, roommate, or anyone else physically present — may be visible in your broadcast at any time, even with their consent. This protects the privacy of people who haven't agreed to our Terms of Service, and broadcasts showing anyone other than the account owner will be shut down and may result in a ban.

Is Live Video Chat free?
Yes, hosting and joining video chat rooms is completely free.
How old do I need to be to use it?
16+ to host or join a room at all. 18+ is required for any adult nudity or sexual content — every participant in that kind of room must be 18 or older.
Do I need to create an account?
You can join rooms as a guest, but hosting a room and saving your chat history works best when logged in.
Can I host more than one room at once?
No — hosting is tied to your account, not your device or browser. If you're already hosting elsewhere, clicking Host a Room again just brings you back into that same room.
What's the difference between a public and private room?
Public rooms show up in the room list with your name for anyone to join. Private rooms are hidden from the list (shown only as an anonymous "Private Room" count) — you'll need to share your invite link with anyone you want to let in.
Is there random video chat matching, like Omegle?
Not yet — right now you browse and join rooms yourself. Random 1-on-1 video chat matching is planned for a future update!
Can other people record my stream?
Broadcasts are recorded on our end for moderation and safety purposes only, and are not publicly downloadable. Other participants could still screen-record you using tools outside our control, so participate at your own risk.
What if someone is misbehaving in a room?
Use the report option in the room, or contact us via the contact page, and our moderation team will review it.
