💰 Owned! — How the Game Works
A "Friends for Sale" style trading game where you buy, sell, and collect fellow members using the site's Points economy.
The Basics
Every eligible member on RateMyBody.net (anyone with at least one approved photo who hasn't opted out) is a tradeable "player" in the Owned! market. You can buy them using your Points, and once you own someone, you can sell them on by letting someone else buy them from you — flipping them for profit — or just hold onto them and collect daily dividends.
💵 How the Money Works
🆕 First-ever purchase ("signing")
If a player has never been bought before, 100% of the price goes straight to them as a "signing bonus" — a nice surprise for getting noticed for the first time.
🔁 Resale (already owned)
90% of the price goes to the previous owner, and 10% goes to the player themselves as a royalty — so popular players always earn something every time they're flipped, no matter who currently owns them.
📈 Daily dividends
Every player you currently own pays you 3% of their value automatically once a day — passive income for holding valuable members instead of just flipping them.
🍀 Lucky Trade
Every purchase has a small chance of a Lucky Trade — a bonus payout straight to the buyer, on top of the normal transaction. It's minted for fun, not taken from anyone else.

Players can earn dynamic badges shown on their market card and profile, based on real-time market activity:

Traded 3+ times in the last 7 days
Diamond Hands
Held by the same owner for 30+ days
Rookie
Joined the market within the last 7 days
Rising Star
Current value is 1.5x+ their original debut price
Rank tiers (🔘 Unranked → 🥉 Bronze → 🥈 Silver → 🥇 Gold → 💎 Diamond → 👑 Legend) also show next to a player's value based purely on their current worth.
🏆 Achievements & Leaderboard
The Owned! Leaderboard tracks Top Net Worth, Most Valuable Players, and Most Traded members. There are also two Owned-specific tracks on the Achievements page:
- Owned: Trader — tiers based on total players you've bought, from First Signing up to Owned Tycoon
- Owned: Mogul — tiers based on how many players you currently own at once, from Team Owner up to Owned Mogul (note: this one reflects your current count, so it can go back down if you gift players away or lose them in a trade)
🎁 Gifting
You can gift anyone you own to an accepted friend, completely free — no points change hands. Go to your Collection, pick a friend from the dropdown on the player's card, and confirm. It's a fun way to surprise a friend or pass along someone you're done flipping.
⚙️ Eligibility & Opting Out
To be tradeable in Owned!, a member needs at least one active, approved photo and a visible (not hidden) profile. If you'd rather not be part of the game at all, you can opt out anytime:
🔔 Notifications
Whenever you're bought, sold, gifted, or receive a royalty/dividend, you'll get both a real email and an in-game System message. Every trade sitewide is also announced in real time in our Discord's #owned channel — who bought who, for how much, and how many times they've been traded.
❓ Quick FAQ
No — Owned! runs entirely on the site's existing Points economy, the same currency used across Point Shop, boosts, and the Lottery. Nothing here has any real-world monetary value.
No, you can't buy or gift yourself. You can still earn a royalty whenever someone else buys/sells you though.
Owned! uses your regular uploaded avatar if you have one. If you signed up via Google/X/GitHub and only have an OAuth profile picture (no real uploaded photo), your highest-rated approved photo is used instead — OAuth avatars are never shown directly in the game.
Only members with at least one active, approved photo are tradeable, so everyone in the market always has a real picture attached.
No — opting out only removes you from the Owned! market. Everything else about your account and profile stays exactly the same.
