💜 About RateMyBody.net
Our story, our mistakes, and where we're headed
🚀 January 2026 — The Relaunch
On January 1st, 2026, we discovered that the original RateMyBody website had vanished from the internet. For many, this site was more than just a photo rating platform — it was a community where people could share, connect, and receive genuine feedback in a supportive environment.
We couldn't let this beloved community disappear forever. That very day, we made the decision to bring RateMyBody back to life. We rebuilt the platform from the ground up with modern technology, AI-powered moderation, photo uploads with community ratings, and a two-tier content system: Safe Content for ages 13+ and Adult Content for 18+. RateMyBody was back.
📹 February 2026 — Going Bigger
February was all about expansion. We added video uploads to the mix — members could now upload and rate videos alongside photos. We launched a live chat room so members could talk in real time, and introduced mini-games to earn extra points and have fun.
This was also when we first lowered clothing restrictions for users aged 13–17 on the Safe Content side. At the time, we believed the age-gating and AI moderation were strong enough to handle it.
📈 March 2026 — Community Features
March brought major community features: Leaderboards with Top 10 rankings, a Points system with a Point Shop for spending earned rewards, and Member of the Month recognition. We also added friends, verification badges, and multi-file uploads.
We further relaxed the clothing restrictions for minors during this month — a decision that, in hindsight, we would come to regret. More on that below.
🔒 We Tightened Our Policies — Here's Why
When we relaunched, we experimented with lenient clothing restrictions for minors on the Safe Content side of the platform. The idea was that with strict age-gating, AI moderation, and a clear separation between Safe Content (13+) and Adult Content (18+), we could allow more relaxed upload rules while keeping everyone safe. The age-gating itself worked fine — that was never the issue.
The problem was the users. Despite clear rules about what was and wasn't acceptable, uploads from minors pushed boundaries far beyond what the clothing rules intended. The lenient restrictions effectively allowed content that was almost nude, and users took full advantage of that. For example, our FAQ had a question like "What can 13–17 year olds wear in Safe Content?" with a detailed breakdown of exactly how much skin was allowed — which became a checklist for pushing limits rather than a safety guideline.
On top of that, our own policies made things worse — safety pages that were meant to protect read more like instruction guides, and Terms of Service sections created structures that could be misused. The overall framing normalised things that should never have been normalised.
On April 12, 2026, we took a hard look at everything and made sweeping changes. We rewrote the Terms of Service from scratch (cutting it from 1,600 to 900 lines), overhauled every safety page, purged dozens of problematic FAQ entries, removed entire policy sections that created risk, and tightened content rules across the board. Photos of minors can no longer be rated 1–10 — they receive only Yes/No feedback. Favouriting, boosting, purchasing, and messaging features are disabled on all minor content.
We're not hiding this. It was a mistake to be that lenient, and we're being upfront about it because transparency matters more than saving face. We'd rather be the site that caught its own problems and fixed them than the one that pretended they never existed.
🤖 AI-Powered Feedback
By popular request, we launched AI Ratings — a brand-new way to get feedback on your photos. Instead of waiting for community votes, you can now get an instant, private AI-powered body and physique rating. The AI analyses your photo and gives detailed, personalised feedback. Choose from four modes:
- Gym Mode — Focuses on muscle definition, physique balance, and fitness level
- Sexy Mode — Rates attractiveness, confidence, and overall appeal
- Spicy Mode — A more daring, playful rating with bold commentary
- Honest Mode — Straightforward, no-filter feedback on your appearance
AI ratings are private by default, but you can choose to share them publicly on your profile via the Shared AI Ratings page. It was one of the most requested features from our members.
🎮 More April Additions
